Sambucus nigra (L.)
The elder bush grows wild in forests and by the roadside, usually in the sun or in partial shade. In early summer, it bears creamy white flowers; these later develop into dark berries. It is primarily the flowers that are used in natural cosmetics. Their extracts have a film-forming effect, giving hair more volume and a natural shine.
